Besom/Broom Blessing
The Yuletide season (aka Christmas) seems to
bring lots of people into our homes and some extreme energy along with it. I
find that as soon as life is back to normal it is a good idea to clean out the
old energy.
You may want to
use this spell to cleanse your home of old and unwelcome energies that may have
followed a few of your holiday guests into the house, or any that have just been
collected during the past year.
This can be accomplished in one task. Take a new broom and tie a herb
charm on the handle. You will need;
Pine (cleansing)
Basil (cleansing)
Lavender (happiness)
Cinnamon (good luck)
Magnolia (peace)
Lemon slices (cleansing)
Rose (love and understanding)
Tell the
besom/broom what its function is by saying;
Broom of magick cleanse this
home,
Leave no negative energies within to
roam.
With these herbs as your charm,
Sweep away all that may bring
harm.
Now
sweep the entire house, starting at your front door and ending at the back door.
Know that you are sweeping all of the old and negative energy out.
When finished take the
herbs and burn them or bury them.
If you believe there was a lot on negative energy during the holidays,
place your broom in the corner of the room you believe to be the heart of the
house for 9 days. This will dissipate any residual negative
energy.
