I personally buy the
daily version
to refill to
use in my 7" x 9" - 3 ring binder and the
electronic
calendar for my Microsoft Outlook.
What makes this calendar worth buying?
Not only is it filled with a ton of
information it is absolutely beautiful. The art within will make your
heart sing and your fingers tingle! Every year the artwork is different
and this year the Seasons of the Witch is
celebrating their 10th Anniversary and in turn is celebrating the
Goddess. Each month there is a different Goddess that is celebrated with a
short explanation of who that Goddess is.
One of the wonderful things about Seasons of The Witch Calendar is the paper that is used to make the calendar. It is a high quality Matte paper that is EASY to write on and literally makes the artwork POP!!
Now add these two wonderful attributes to the information that is contained within and you will find EVERYTHING you need to have a magickal year.
Wondering what type of information is in the
calendar?
Well let me tell you - This calendar gives you the
information on when the moon phases are, which days are best to cast your
spells, celebrate your sabbats and esbats as well as when the moon is
void-of-course, which days you will face Mercury in Retrograde and when the moon
enters an astrological sign.
Throughout the calendar there are tidbits of information that you will find useful throughout the Sabbats/Esbats as well as beautiful poetry.
The calendar also gives you a chart on the names of each moon. Seasons of The Witch has it's own names for the Esbats which they refer to as "Witches' Date" and although they are interesting I have yet to figure out why they are named what they are named. No worries though they do not in anyway make the calendar confusing or any less worth buying and hey, it may be something that you find worth investigating further.
Although it is not necessary I highly recommend that if you are purchasing the calendar for the first time that you also buy Victoria David Danann's "Primer Seasons of the Witch Companion Guide" as you will find it useful in using the calendar the first time around.
On the daily version there is also plenty of room to not only write your appointments but to keep a journal of sorts for your daily workings, readings or just notes to yourself. Each calendar comes with extra "note" pages that are just as beautiful as the rest of calendar.
This year when you buy the daily calendar you also get a beautiful 7 hole binder as well as the monthly dividers. When I first started using Seasons of the Witch you had to buy the monthly dividers separately or use the ones that you already had. I find it a wonderful idea to include the binder so that instead of trying to find someplace to store your yearly calendar at the end of the year you already have a binder to put it in. The binder is black and the jacket that comes on it can easily be removed but the binder area does say Seasons 2010 with the 7th- House logo so if you are looking for complete anonymity you may want to use a different binder for daily use.
I personally purchased the Oak leather binder they have to offer in the "planner add on's" and wouldn't trade it for anything but it is a little pricey. With that said if you use your calendar daily it is well worth the money. Not only is it absolutely gorgeous you cannot find them anywhere else (not even on the manufacturers website) for this price so overall it is actually inexpensive if you are looking for one.
Finally, the electronic calendar is
wonderful for those that do not want to carry a calendar around and tend to use
their computer more. There are no pretty pictures but the pertinent
information is there and the price is right. It is simple to install and
doesn't require another program on your computer as you simply import a file
into your Outlook Calendar. It would be nice if they could find a way to
include the pictures as truly they are so beautiful and it would take the blah
out of Outlook.
There is
also a weekly, weekly filler and wall calendar available. I have not seen or used
either one so I cannot tell you anything about them but I have no doubt that
they are as wonderful as the daily and electronic
calendars.
I would also like to tell you that if for any reason you call 7th-House you will likely talk to a beautifully intelligent woman named Maria. She is top notch and will bend over backwards to make sure you get everything you need. 7th-House has truly chosen the perfect person to represent their organization via the telephone.
This
calendar, in my humble opinion, is the best on the market and each year it just
keeps getting better.
A rare honor I rate this calendar with 5 hats!![]()
