Another Year Passed

the blessed wheel has turned
and yet another year has slipped away
and here we stand
upon the cusp,
breath held,
waiting.

the infant year dances upon our hearth
tentative steps to be taken
into our lives.

once more, we join
in thought and love
to welcome in the new
and spread ourselves upon the winds
of change.
