There are many Gods and
Goddesses each from a different place and time yet they are still with us and
within us waiting to assist us in our daily lives. We identify with them
through their stories and we recognize their struggles and triumphs just as we
do our own. Just as we as humans have different personalities and
attributes so do they. As we walk through our daily lives we
look to them for guidance and many times assistance.
As Pagans we tend to find our
patron Gods and Goddesses and work with them because they resonate with who we
are as individuals. There are times, however, when we have a need or
desire that requires us to step outside the norm and during those times we
go searching for the attributes we need. We pick a God or Goddess who we
feel can help us obtain or assist us with our need or desire.
What many do not understand is
that we have the divine within us and all of our needs and desires can be
obtained from within. Regardless, it is wonderful to
find the energy within the attributes of the Gods and Goddesses we
want to work with. Many times they pick us and although we are not aware
of who they are we begin our search to find them. The energy and guidance
they offer to those who seek them is beyond descriptive words.
My wish for you is that you find
the God or Goddess that you are searching for and in the process find a part of
yourself. May your path be blessed with love and understanding.
