Dear Friend,
It is time again and we only
have weeks until the 2010 Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
As you all know,
I am a Breast Cancer survivor and this Oct will be 6 years and
counting.
I am extremely proud that this year myself and the family of
Ravensgrove
will be walking as a Team.
I am proud that each of use will be doing our
best to help fight Breast Cancer and find the cure. I ask that you please donate
to help us STOP BREAST CANCER in our lifetime... Donate,
Walk, Work and Fight … the cure is out there, let's find it together.
Thank you
all,
Abigail
She Is My Daughter
She is my daughter, she is my child.
She is a
baby with the sweetest smile.
She dreams upon my beating breast.
For in my
arms she finds her rest.
I live in fear of this curse,
But what could be
even worse.
To know I did not fight the fight,
To someday save her from
this plight.
What do I tell her as time goes by,
When she ask of me, O’
mother why.
Why does this disease strike me down,
Where is the cure that
should be found.
So stand up, walk, run and sing,
Together let our voices
ring.
So as one heart, someday we can say.
Daughters, we have won
the day.

According to
the Susan G. Komen website an estimated 192,370 new cases of invasive breast cancer will occur
among women in the United States during 2009. And an estimated 41,170 women will die from breast cancer. Also, about
1,910 men will be diagnosed and 440 men will die of breast cancer during 2009 in
the United States. In addition to invasive breast cancer, an estimated
62,280 new cases of in situ breast cancer will occur among women in
2009.
I know several women who are breast cancer
survivors. Each of these women have fought hard and continue to survive
this horrific dis-ease yet there are many who do not survive. We MUST find
a cure for this dis-ease!
Early detection is vitally
important to surviving breast cancer. If you do nothing else PLEASE do
your monthly
breast exams and have your Mammograms.
If you are interested in purchasing breast cancer awareness
items here is a good site to do it from. Your support helps fund free
mammograms.
